Despite being called up to Australia A's side for the tour match against England, Jon Holland will only carry the drinks for Victoria.

The Bushrangers opted to go without their left-arm spinner in favour of Fawad Ahmed for the first Sheffield Shield game of the season against Western Australia.

On a pitch that has a generous grass covering, there was little chance of either team opting for two spinners, with the Warriors going for Ashes sensation Ashton Agar.

Shaun Marsh, who needs runs here to press his own Ashes claims, won the toss and sent Victorian into bat.
Matthew Wade will skipper the Vics in white clothing for the first time, with Chris Rogers and Rob Quiney to open the batting.

Rogers presented a navy blue cap to first-time Victorian player Dan Christian before the match.
